The foundations of ELAUT

Achiel Verstraeten became the first person to fit a gripping mechanism with three motors into one independent cart in 1959. He was also the first to automate the collection for bumper cars and auto scooters.



A trip down memory lane

Learn more about how Achiel rolled into the Amusement industry and how he laid the foundations of the Group we are today.

1957

Elektro Automaten

Achiel has a small repair shop of radios and televisions in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, named Elektro Automaten which would later become ELAUT.


1959

Traveling showmen

Achiel repairs broken amusement games of traveling showmen passing his town.

He develops coin mechs for bumper cars, which becomes an immediate success and quickly his coin mechanisms are on every bumper car in Belgium and Holland. 

1960

Bumper cars coin mechs

Achiel starts to develop coin mechs for bumper cars. Due to the big success he starts installing all over Belgium and Holland.

1961

Germany 

Achiel and his wive move to Germany to grow further the business and now the business is really going international.

1963

Back in Belgium

Achiel continues to develop various games and applications for traveling showmen in Belgium, Holland, Germany and France.

1968

European expansion

Further expansion into the UK, Spain, Italy and more European countries.

1978

Good Luck Crane

Successful development of Good Luck crane.​ Cranes becomes the core product.

1984

USA expansion

Achiel and his wive make a trip to the USA and visit the AMOA Show in Chicago. Sales now really kick off. 

1996

2nd Generation

Achiel's children take over the company's management.

2004

ELAUT Germany

ELAUT Germany was founded. 

2005

The Start of ELAUT USA

ELAUT purchases Monduce, one of the largest operators and concessionaires of coin-operated equipment to the amusement and theme park industry. Which later became Elaut USA.

2009

ELAUT Spain

ELAUT Spain was founded

2012

Coin Pushers

The first pushers, Mistral and Wizard of Oz were launched.

2015

Coast To Coast Entertainment

ELAUT acquires Coast To Coast Entertainment and expands its USA business. 

2017

Benchmark Games International

ELAUT acquires Benchmark Games, one of the industry’s leaders in the creation of exceptional, entertaining, high-profit Redemption Games and Self-Contained Merchandise Machines.

The ELAUT Group is now officially born.
